Summary

North Tapps Middle School is a highly-regarded public school serving about 523 students in grades 6-8 within the top-ranked Dieringer School District in Lake Tapps, WA.

The school consistently earns high marks for academic excellence, with student proficiency in English, Math, and Science significantly above state averages and often 30 to 40 points higher than many nearby schools in other districts. For instance, while Lakeridge Middle School in the Sumner-Bonney Lake School District performs similarly, schools in the Auburn School District, Federal Way School District, and Fife School District lag far behind, highlighting how the quality of the home district is a major factor in a school's success.

North Tapps benefits from strong district resources and a stable, high-achieving environment. Interestingly, the school achieves these results with a class size slightly larger than some lower-performing neighboring schools, and it shows particular effectiveness in supporting students from lower-income families. While it excels in most areas, performance data suggests there is room for growth in supporting multi-racial and special education students to reach the same high levels as their peers.

Open Quote Our son went through all 3 years here. We were thrilled with the education, the quality of the course work as well as the high level of teaching. The administration was amazing and showed great care for all students. There are wonderful volunteer opportunities for the students as well. My son and his friends had such a great time in middle school and we couldn't be happier! Close Quote
