Burlington Edison High School is a public grades 9–12 school serving 1,047 students in the Burlington community and is the main comprehensive high school in the Burlington-Edison School District. About 52.63% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, the student-teacher ratio is 18.3, and per-student spending was $20,021 in 2023–2024. The school ranks in the 42nd percentile among Washington high schools, an improvement over its results from 2020–2024 but below its stronger standing in the mid-2010s.

Academically, science is the school’s clearest strength: 60.91% of students were proficient in 2025–2026, ahead of the state rate of 50.95% and well above nearby Sedro Woolley Senior High School, La Conner High School, and Mount Vernon High School. English proficiency was 45.19%, better than the district but below the state. Math is the major concern: only 16.03% were proficient, compared with 43.11% statewide and stronger results at all three comparison schools. However, the dropout rate has risen from 3.4% in 2020–2021 to 10.5%, now above the state level. Overall, the school offers relatively strong science instruction, reasonable staffing, and solid graduation results, but families should pay close attention to mathematics, dropout prevention, and continued academic improvement.
