Edison Elementary is a K–5 school serving 390 students in Bow, Washington, within the Burlington-Edison School District. It ranks 461st of 1,138 Washington schools, placing it in the 59th percentile and making it a solidly above-average school statewide. Edison is also one of the stronger schools in its district, even though the district ranks in the 24th percentile statewide.

Edison’s latest results show meaningful strengths compared with nearby schools. In 2025–2026, 49.04% of students were proficient in English language arts, 45.63% in math, and 50.00% in science. Those results were substantially higher than the Bay View Elementary and Allen Elementary results in the same district. Edison also exceeded district averages in all three subjects, with its largest advantage in math. However, it trails the higher-performing Anacortes schools, including Island View Elementary, Mount Erie Elementary, and Fidalgo Elementary, which generally posted stronger proficiency rates and statewide rankings.

The main concern is recent volatility. Edison’s ranking fell from the 78th percentile in 2024–2025 to the 59th percentile in 2025–2026, largely because ELA proficiency dropped from 67.16% to 49.04%. Fourth- and fifth-grade ELA results and fifth-grade math, at 41.18%, are priority areas. Science has been more stable, and overall math remains slightly above the state average. Parents may also want to ask how the school is supporting students receiving special education services, whose current statewide effectiveness ranking is at the 15th percentile. Overall, Edison appears to be a strong local option with clear district-relative advantages, while its recent decline merits monitoring.
