Wasatch High

Wasatch High is a large public high school in Heber City, a Wasatch Valley community, serving grades 9–12 and 2,604 students. The school is part of the Wasatch District, which ranks 19th of 92 Utah districts. Wasatch ranks 20th of 139 Utah high schools for 2025–26, placing it in the 86th percentile and earning a four-star rating. This is a notable improvement from its middle-to-lower statewide standing earlier in the decade. The school also reports a 93.1% graduation rate, above Utah’s 89.8%, and a 6.0% dropout rate, below the state’s 8.5%.

Academically, Wasatch performed above Utah averages in every reported 2025–26 Aspire Plus subject and grade. Proficiency ranged from 39.5% in 10th-grade math to 58.8% in 10th-grade ELA, with especially strong advantages over the state in science and ELA. Science has shown clear recent growth, while math remains the main opportunity for improvement. Wasatch generally compares favorably with similarly large Timpview High, performing better in most recent subject comparisons, although Timpview has slightly stronger graduation and dropout results. The nearby Park City High remains the stronger academic performer, ranking fifth statewide and exceeding Wasatch in every reported subject comparison.

Attendance is one of Wasatch’s most distinctive strengths. Only 2.9% of students were chronically absent in 2024–25, far below Utah’s 23.8% and the rates reported by nearby Timpview High, Timpanogos High, and Pleasant Grove High. Parents should also note that results are not equally strong across all student groups: outcomes for economically disadvantaged students and English learners have been more variable than the school’s overall results. Overall, Wasatch combines strong statewide performance, improving science achievement, excellent attendance, and the scale of a comprehensive large high school.
