Park City District

Park City District serves students in grades K–12 through six schools in the Park City, Utah area: four elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school, with approximately 3,377 students overall. The district ranks 5th among Utah’s 92 districts and offers generally strong academic outcomes, with five of its six schools receiving five-star ratings.

For elementary families, Jeremy Ranch School is the strongest overall performer, ranking 10th of 563 Utah elementary schools. It has the highest elementary test average, the lowest chronic absenteeism at 13.5%, and especially strong science and mathematics results. Parley’s Park School and McPolin School also rank highly and have improved substantially in recent years. However, attendance is a concern at both, particularly at Parley’s Park, where chronic absenteeism is 24.8%. Trailside School remains above the statewide midpoint but needs the closest follow-up: its ranking fell to 80th, its elementary test average is the district’s lowest, and chronic absenteeism is highest at 26.1%. Its 3rd-grade ELA result of 41.0% is a notable weakness despite stronger 4th- and 5th-grade science and mathematics results.

Ecker Hill Middle ranks 10th of 217 Utah middle schools and performs particularly well in science and ELA. Its main challenge is attendance, with 21.4% chronic absenteeism, while 6th-grade mathematics is its weakest academic area. At the high school level, Park City High is a major strength, ranking 5th of 139, with a 95.2% graduation rate, a 6.8% chronic absenteeism rate, and strong recent ranking growth. Its main academic opportunity is 10th-grade mathematics. Overall, families can expect strong schools across the district, but attendance and specific grade-subject gaps vary considerably by campus.
