Its 21.9:1 student-teacher ratio is typical for nearby schools. Altara is generally above the state average, although its recent standing is not as strong as it was several years ago.

Altara’s 2025–26 proficiency rates were approximately 54.1% in English language arts, 53.3% in mathematics, and 52.3% in science. EXCELLENT SCHOOL! The teachers, administration, pta and parent involvement are outstanding! Altara is a safe and caring environment, it feels like family there. The education my kids have received has exceeded my expectations.
