Summary

Geneva Heights Elementary is a PK-5 school in the Dallas Independent School District (Isd) serving 380 students, and it has recently surged to an 81st percentile statewide ranking with a 4-star rating, marking a significant turnaround from previous years.

This school is a standout for its remarkable recent progress, especially for its economically disadvantaged students, who jumped from the 17th percentile in 2023-2024 to the 76th percentile in 2025-2026—a 59-point improvement in just two years. Reading proficiency is a clear strength, consistently exceeding district and state averages across all tested grades; for example, 5th-grade reading reached 80.85% proficiency compared to the district's 57.52%. However, math scores, while above average, are less dominant, and 5th-grade science is a notable weakness, falling below both district and state benchmarks. The school also shows a surprising dip in performance for its Gifted and Talented students, ranking in the 29th percentile in 2024-2025, suggesting that advanced programming may need attention.

Compared to nearby schools, Geneva Heights sits in a complex neighborhood. It outperforms struggling peers like Cesar Chavez Learning Center (7th percentile) and Ben Milam Elementary (41st percentile), but it still trails elite neighbors like Lakewood Elementary (99th percentile) and Mockingbird Elementary (95th percentile). Interestingly, it competes well with the specialized Solar Preparatory School For Girls At Bonham (91st percentile) and Solar Prep For Boys At John F Kennedy (84th percentile), which serve similar demographics. The school's primary challenges are closing achievement gaps among student groups and strengthening its science curriculum to match its reading success.

Open Quote I took a chance and pulled my son out of private school and sent him here. This school offers dual-language and is IB certified. My son completes his homework in Spanish while completing IB curriculum. Getting in touch with the principal and/or teacher is incredibly simple. I can go to his school and participate in anything anytime and they love seeing parents there. I can't believe I was spending more than 20k a year on private! Close Quote

Open Quote This school has tremendous potential. Lee Elementary was rated exemplary in 2011 (the last year Texas schools were ranked). We have a new, bright, and energetic principle who is encouraging the parents and community to get involved, is starting a two way bilingual program for Kindergarten in the 2013-14 school year, and is driven by the belief that every child deserves a quality education that will prepare them for college and beyond. This is a relatively small, friendly school where an interested and involved parent can really make an impact on both their own child's experience and the community as a whole. Close Quote
