After a few challenging years, the school posted a notable turnaround in 2025–2026, climbing to its best statewide ranking since 2017–2018 and showing broad improvement across academics, graduation rates, and student subgroups.

One of the school’s standout strengths is its graduation rate of 92.4% (2024–2025), well above the district’s 85.9% and the state’s 90.5%, with a dropout rate of just 4.7% compared to the district’s 11.0%. Special education students at Greenbrier rank 10th out of 210 Tennessee high schools (95th percentile, 5 stars) – an exceptional result.
