Lordstown High School, at 1824 Salt Springs Rd in Warren, Ohio, is a small combined middle-and-high school serving grades 7 through 12 with 173 students in the Lordstown Local district, roughly 5 to 8 miles from a ring of ten comparable secondary schools in Trumbull and Mahoning County. After two weaker years in the 59th–60th percentile (2022–23 and 2023–24), the school rebounded sharply to the 90th percentile in 2024–25 and 86th in 2025–26 — its two strongest years on record, and the highest state rank of any school in its immediate comparison group.

Every reported 2025–26 assessment sits above the Ohio average, from Biology at 92% (state 67%) to 8th-grade ELA at 85.2% (state 58.3%). Lordstown outperforms nearby Mineral Ridge High School (83rd percentile), McDonald High School (84th), Jackson-Milton High School (81st) and Howland High School (70th), and it is far ahead of LaBrae High School (36th), McKinley High School (24th), Newton Falls High School (23rd) and Warren G Harding High School (14th). The school runs a resource-intensive model: the lowest student–teacher ratio in the group at 9.8 to 1 and the highest per-pupil spending at $13,952. The graduation rate is strong (94.6%) but swings year to year, and Geometry (64.9%) is the relative soft spot, where Howland posts 73.1%. Because the school is small, a handful of students can move results several points in either direction.
