Crestview Middle School is a public school in Ashland, Ohio, serving grades 5–8 with 271 students as part of the Crestview Local district. In 2025–2026 it ranked 480 out of 1,046 Ohio middle schools — 54th percentile, 3 stars — while its district ranked 392 out of 773 districts — 49th percentile, 2 stars. That puts the school slightly above its district's overall position but mid-pack statewide.

Crestview Middle was historically much stronger, peaking at 150 out of 1,050 schools — 86th percentile, 4 stars — in 2015–2016, and still sitting at the 75th percentile in 2023–2024 before slipping to 61st in 2024–2025 and 54th in 2025–2026. Two context shifts stand out. The share of students receiving free or reduced lunch climbed from 37.45% in 2022–2023 to 52.24% and then 62.36% in 2024–2025. Sixth grade results sit essentially at state average but slightly below. By subgroup, female students ranked in the 61st percentile while male students ranked 39th, and gifted students remained a strength at 74th in 2024–2025. Overall, Crestview is middle-of-the-pack locally — below Ontario Middle School, Shelby Middle School, and Ashland Middle School — with strong attendance and above-average spending, but results that have recently settled into average territory.
