Olentangy Orange Middle School in Lewis Center, Ohio, is a grades 6–8 school of about 1,056 students — the largest middle school in the Olentangy Local district, one of Ohio's top-rated districts. For 2025–26 it ranks 129th of 1,046 Ohio middle schools, placing it in the 88th percentile with 4 stars. That is a strong result by any statewide measure, but it marks a step down from the school's own recent history: Orange spent roughly a decade in the 90th–93rd percentile with 5-star ratings before posting back-to-back years at 87th–88th percentile and 4 stars, its lowest two-year stretch since 2016–17.

Within its district, Orange is the lowest-ranked of the five Olentangy Local middle schools, trailing Olentangy Liberty Middle School (99th percentile), Olentangy Berlin Middle School (96th), Berkshire Middle School (95th) and Olentangy Shanahan Middle School (94th) by a full star. It still outranks nearby Worthington City and Westerville City schools such as Worthingway Middle School, Mccord Middle School, Genoa Middle School and Blendon Middle School, so this is a bottom-of-an-elite-group story rather than a struggling-school story.
