Powell, Ohio has 10 public schools — seven elementary, two middle, and one high school — serving 8,070 students. The district landscape is dominated by Olentangy Local, which accounts for 8 of the 10 schools and 88.2% of enrollment and ranks in the 93rd percentile statewide with 5 stars. The remaining two are Albert Chapman Elementary School in Dublin City and Liberty Elementary School in Worthington City.

Top performers cluster at the top of the state rankings. Olentangy Liberty Middle School ranks 11 of 1,046 middle schools (99th percentile, 5 stars) with a 92.4 test average and 5.9% chronic absenteeism. Tyler Run Elementary School is the strongest elementary, at 66 of 1,560 (96th percentile) with a 90.4 average and 4.4% absenteeism, followed closely by Scioto Ridge Elementary School at the 95th percentile. Olentangy Liberty High School ranks 31 of 795 with a 98.2% graduation rate, but has Powell's highest chronic absenteeism at 12.2% and Algebra I results below its district. Hyatts Middle School ranks 47 of 1,046 but had a few 2025-2026 scores below the Olentangy district average.

Every Powell school exceeds Ohio state averages in every reported 2025-2026 test, but only Liberty Middle, Scioto Ridge, and Tyler Run beat their district averages on every test. Albert Chapman and Liberty Elementary serve far higher shares of students from low-income families (24.76% and 32.47% free/reduced lunch) and rank lower, though still above state norms. Nine of ten Powell schools have chronic absenteeism below their district's rate; Liberty High is the exception.
