Summary

Constellation Schools: Parma Community is a K–12 alternative charter school in Parma, Ohio, just outside Cleveland, serving 1,259 students as its own district — noticeably larger than most nearby alternative programs, which typically enroll roughly 300 to 630 students.

Graduation is a relative strength: Constellation Schools: Parma Community posted 84.0% in 2025–2026, with a five-year range of 84.0% to 92.0%. That is well above Natividad Pagan International Newcomers Academy (71.4%) and Alternative Education Academy (42.4%), though behind Albert Einstein Academy for Letters Arts and Sciences-Ohio (90.6%). Test scores are mixed. On the 2025–2026 Ohio State Tests, the school fell below the state in 19 of 20 reported assessments; the lone exception was American Government (72.5% vs. 71.6% state), with American History close (70.1% vs. 73.2%). Math and science gaps are widest — Algebra I 28.0% vs. 61.6% state, Geometry 17.3% vs. 43.3%. Among nearby alternatives, however, Parma often leads, including Algebra I, Geometry, Biology, and English II. It does not win everywhere: Albert Einstein beats it in 3rd-grade ELA (72.7% vs. 44.8%), and Clara E Westropp School beats it in several middle-grade measures, such as 8th-grade Mathematics (47.4% vs. 30.5%).

The biggest concern is attendance: chronic absenteeism climbed from 35.2% in 2021–2022 to 48.9% in 2025–2026, higher than Albert Einstein Academy (37.0%) and Alternative Education Academy (10.3%), though below Halle (56.3%). This happened even as the student–teacher ratio improved sharply, from 36.8 in 2022–2023 to 16.7 in 2024–2025. Per-student spending of $6,861 (2018–2019) is low next to Cleveland Municipal schools ($9,639–$12,407) but similar to other charters, and reported free/reduced lunch rates are low (10.8% in 2023–2024), with 2024–2025 not reported.
