The school has genuine strengths in student engagement: the most recent graduation rate came in at 91.9%, consistently above both district and state averages, and chronic absenteeism at 8.1% is far lower than the statewide average of 24.2%. Yet academic rankings tell a different story. North Davidson currently sits at 349th out of 662 high schools statewide (2 stars), a notable drop from the 4-star rating it earned in 2017–18 and even from its 3-star rating as recently as last year.
