As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote My child has had WONDERFUL teachers at Irvin. The teachers are very dedicated and hard working. It seems to me that they put most of their efforts into teaching the students at their level. I bet that is a hard job. Thumbs up to the staff and administration at Irvin Elementary!! Close Quote

Open Quote Let's just say, the staff can be kind, friendly, and helpful (just a few), but after 1/2 of the school year is completed, they seem to "let things go".
What may be important to the parents and child, may just be "just the norm" for those here.
Elementary school teachers should not be swearing or even using foul words among these children.
Why are these teachers allowed to teach when we try to teach our children not to use this language?
When there are concerns with our child, the staff again will work greatly during the first part of the year but when there are still other matters (big or small) they slack.
Many of us parents are disappointed for this school. IT has a lot of potential with the handful of great staff, but the others have a lot to be concerned with.
We all know that "kids will be kids" but when you try to stop the kids for saying "Unkind words" toward the children, why is it okay for the teachers to use FOUL and Swear words toward the kids? No wonder the kids are afraid to communicate with some of these teachers. It also appears with the grades from these children when they are intimidated by the teachers and/ or peers. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
