Summary

Langtree Charter Academy is a public charter school located in Mooresville, North Carolina, serving grades K-12 with a total enrollment of 1,640 students. The school has consistently outperformed the state averages in academic proficiency, particularly in mathematics, reading, and science.

Langtree Charter Academy's academic performance is impressive, with 71.7% proficiency in 5th grade math and reading, compared to the state averages of 59.3% and 52.9%, respectively. The school also stands out in end-of-course exams, with 77.3% of students proficient in English II, significantly higher than the state average of 59.6%. While Corvian Community School and Pioneer Springs Community School also perform well, Lake Norman Charter and Pine Lake Preparatory demonstrate even higher academic achievement in certain areas.

Another notable aspect of Langtree Charter Academy is the decrease in its student-teacher ratio, from 11.1 in 2021-2022 to 19.6 in 2023-2024, suggesting a potential shift towards smaller class sizes and more individualized attention for students. Additionally, the school has seen an increase in the percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch, from 9.75% in 2021-2022 to 29.94% in 2023-2024, indicating a growing population of economically disadvantaged students that the school may need to support to maintain its strong academic performance.

Open Quote This is our first year at LCA Lower (3rd snd 5th grade) and it has been a great experience! My childrens’ teachers are wonderful, the staff is very friendly and responsive to any questions I may have and my children have excelled in the Cambridge program. The school is growing and improving more every year. Close Quote

Open Quote C School Under-performing school Poor test results. Teachers mark based on homework not testing. Kids never learn to write tests resulting in poor test scores. Students test at the beginning of the year and have the same results at the end of the year indicating poor teacher performance. Close Quote

Open Quote This is my 3rd year teaching, and I really am impressed with Langtree. What I appreciate most is the parents' and staff's willingness to supply teachers with all the help and resources they could possibly need. It's such a blessing to be able to teach with an abundance of resources - those that make learning fun for the kids! Close Quote

Open Quote Langtree is an amazing school where students and teachers work side by side to engage in learning and teaching. The school administration is caring and compassionate. They have a strong character education program. They are well known for working with students with learning differences. Both of my children love going to school here and the community and PTC are awesome! Close Quote

Open Quote Horrible upper school! Your child will not get what they need. On-going extremely poor communication. Eleventh graders were not told they would be taking the ACT. They informed parents by putting a one-liner in a newsletter. Close Quote
