Corvian Community School is a K-12 public alternative school in Charlotte, NC, enrolling about 1,376 students and operating as its own school district. Corvian is a high-performing school with excellent attendance and particularly strong secondary math and English results. While Lake Norman Charter and Community School of Davidson generally post stronger elementary and middle-school EOG scores, Corvian stands out for exceptional End-of-Course performance and very low chronic absenteeism. Corvian's chronic absenteeism rate is just 7.2%, compared to 24.2% statewide, and lower than nearby Bradford Preparatory School (9.7%) and Lake Norman Charter (10.8%), though slightly higher than Community School of Davidson's 6.5%.

Corvian's biggest academic strength emerges in middle and high school rather than elementary. A simple average of Corvian's reported state test proficiency rates is roughly 74% proficient compared with 59% statewide, placing it in the top tier locally, behind Lake Norman Charter and Community School of Davidson but ahead of Bradford Preparatory School and most other nearby schools. Graduation rates are good but slightly less impressive, with the latest figure at 89.5% versus 88.8% statewide, historically reaching closer to 93%. The school achieves strong results with a student-teacher ratio of 18.8, which is not especially small, suggesting that its remarkably low chronic absenteeism plays a key role in supporting student outcomes.
