It is the smallest of the three Shakopee elementaries in this comparison set. Statewide in 2025-26 it ranked 669th of 869 Minnesota elementary schools — the 23rd percentile, rated 1 star — the lowest position in its available history and well below its own district's 47th-percentile midpoint.

In 2025-26, 31.8% of Red Oak students met standards in math, 38.9% in reading and 9.0% in science — below district and state in every subject, with science the sharpest gap at roughly a third of the state figure. Two years earlier the school was above both. I was a student at Red Oak Elementary many years ago and I hated it.
The teachers were all extremely rude to me and all they would do to me when I told them that I was getting bullied, is laugh! I was constantly made fun of and the education was atrocious. The teachers would simply send you out of the classroom if you didn't get the concept and asked them a question. I would come home crying everyday. The teachers at this school don't care about the students at all and just want money. Thus, this school is awful. Close Quote
