As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Our teachers really love what they do. The individualized attention they manage to give each child It's amazing! We are so grateful for wonderful teachers and the school personnel in our public school that it's hard to only be able to give them a 5 star rating, they really go above and beyond! Thank you Westwood for your amazing work with my 5 children ! Close Quote

Open Quote The regular schooling is of your normal public school expectations, teaching to the "mass" students. However this school has a school within a school called SAGE, being marketed towards the local community as a gifted school inside a public school. The SAGE school is not knowledgeable in Highly gifted and above children. They are directed towards High Achievers, and are uneducated in how these HG+ children actually learn, socialize, and are unable to truly inspire these children. The principal is very opinionated in how her school is to be run, seems to be a great principal until there's a bump in the road, then she becomes judgmental, unwilling to help your child, and even threatening. The principal is the leader of the gifted program, and doesn't know of OE's, repetitive instruction issues, and tends to label ADD as issues in the gifted child. I truly hope the faculty becomes better informed on how HG+ children actually function, and what they "need" in order to learn. Personal Opinion: Do not go to Westwood for the gifted program, otherwise it's a great school. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
