Summary:

Prior Lake-Savage Area Schools is a top-quintile Minnesota district (83rd percentile, 4 stars) serving about 8,563 students across 11 schools — seven elementary schools, one middle school, one comprehensive high school, and two alternative high schools. Prior Lake High School alone holds 33.4% of enrollment (2,856 students), Prior Lake-Savage Middle School 23.7%, and the seven elementaries 41.7% combined.

The elementary schools are the district's engine. Redtail Ridge Elementary School is the clear front-runner, climbing from the 75th to the 93rd percentile (5 stars) with the district's best all-grades results — math 72.5, reading 67.1, and science 55.4, more than double the state's science figure. Jeffers Pond Elementary School and La Ola Del Lago at Grainwood also earn 5 stars, and La Ola leads every school in reading (71.6). Glendale Elementary is the equity standout, tying for the top elementary math score (71.2) despite the highest elementary poverty rate. Prior Lake-Savage Middle School has held near the 89th percentile for three straight years, while Prior Lake High School graduates 97.6% of students with a 0.5% dropout rate.

Two schools bear watching. Five Hawks Elementary School fell to 3 stars (68th percentile) with the lowest elementary reading and science results, and WestWood Elementary slipped from the 86th to the 77th percentile. Eighth-grade science at the middle school (19.4%) is the district's weakest comprehensive-school result. The ALC sits at the 5th percentile with 0 stars, but it is an alternative setting serving 75 students, and its reading score is suppressed for privacy while its math and science values are reported.
