Hutchinson High School is a 1,214-student public high school serving grades 9–12 in Hutchinson, Kansas. Its 2023–24 graduation rate was a bright spot: 92%, above the state’s 90% and the district’s 89%. But attendance stands out as the most pressing concern: 34% of students were chronically absent in 2025–26, compared with 18% statewide and 21% in Hutchinson Public Schools.

Test results were below Kansas in all three subjects but above the district in each. In 2025–26, proficiency was 38% in English language arts (ELA), 32% in math and 30% in science—about 8, 9 and 8 percentage points below the state, respectively.
