Summary

Ell-Saline Middle/High School in Brookville, Kansas, enrolls 204 students in grades 7–12. Its 2025–26 results are mixed: science proficiency is around the state level, while English language arts (ELA) and math are lower, with math the clearest concern. The all-grades math result was 25%, but grades 7 and 8 scored just 15% and 18%, respectively—23 and 22 points below state results—while grade 10 reached 47%, 10 points above the state. The most important finding for families is that the low overall math result reflects especially weak performance in the tested middle grades, not a consistently low result across every grade.

Compared with nearby schools, Ell-Saline was second-lowest in ELA and math, and fourth of seven schools in science.
