Open Quote My son is a student at Pocahontas IL. The teachers and principal have been harassing my son. He got wrote up this week for telling another student he didnt like the teacher. He accidentally hit a kid getting off the bus last month. He was writen up for it also(This one I agree with). When he said it was an accident they replied "you have to be incontrol of yourself and your possessions." He came home yesturday with scraches all over his face. A kid hit him with their coat. The zipper caught him and put scraches all down his face. The scratches was still beet red 6 hours after it happened. The principal told him it was "ok" because it was an accident. My wife called to complain and tell them we are going to pull him out of school today. The principal told her she could NOT come pickup our son without disciplinary actions taken towards our son. About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.

About Immunization Rates:
Each year, public and private schools across the state are required to send data about their students’ vaccination status to the Illinois State Board of Education. The state Board of Education compiles the data and shares them with the Illinois Department of Public Health. Public health officials use the data to monitor trends, track compliance with state immunization laws and identify pockets of vulnerability should an outbreak occur.

At this time, SchoolDigger.com only shows immunization data for public schools.
