Bond County CUSD 2

The four schools in Bond County CUSD 2 serve students from preschool through grade 12, with elementary, junior-high, high-school and PK–8 options. Across the three schools reporting IAR results, the 2025–2026 ELA average was 65%, compared with 56% statewide, while math averaged 40.3% versus 39.6% statewide. The clearest academic strength in the area is ELA, while math is more uneven and Greenville Junior High School is the main concern.

Pocahontas Center led in All Grades ELA at 71%, ahead of Greenville Junior High at 64% and Greenville Elementary School at 58%; Pocahontas Center was 15 percentage points above the state. In math, Greenville Elementary led at 46%, just above Pocahontas Center’s 44%, while Greenville Junior High was at 30%, 9 points below the state. Greenville Elementary also had a strong grade-5 science result: 63%, compared with 48% statewide. At Bond City Community Unit 2 High School, graduation was 97% versus 90% statewide, although grade-11 ACT proficiency was below state rates in ELA (45% versus 50%), math (35% versus 40%) and science (38% versus 48%).

Recent IAR averages remained above state results, but the advantage narrowed: from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, the ELA lead fell from 12 to 8 percentage points and the math lead from 3 points to about 1. SchoolDigger’s latest statewide ranking percentiles put Pocahontas Center highest at 80, followed by Greenville Elementary at 56, the high school at 41 and Greenville Junior High at 38; since 2023–2024, Pocahontas Center rose 8 percentile points, while the other schools fell. For context, all four schools reported free/reduced lunch eligible figures for school year 2024–2025, ranging from 45% at the high school to 56% at Greenville Elementary. Because the schools serve different grade spans and some results are suppressed, not every comparison is like-for-like.
