Rock Creek Elementary

Rock Creek Elementary is a K–5 school in Twin Falls, Idaho, serving about 601 students and ranking among the top 30% of elementary schools statewide (107th of 346 in 2025–2026). Along with Pillar Falls Elementary, it is one of only two Twin Falls District elementary schools ranked in the upper half of Idaho schools, and it clearly outperforms the district average.

Academically, Rock Creek Elementary posts ISAT proficiency rates well above both the district and state: 54.8% in math compared to 37.4% for the district and 43.1% statewide, and 59.4% in English Language Arts versus 47.6% for the district and 54.0% statewide. The school's chronic absenteeism rate of 9.1% is the lowest of any Twin Falls District elementary school and about half the district average (18.1%), and its free/reduced lunch rate of 31.8% is far lower than most neighboring schools — only Pillar Falls (35.6%) is comparable.

What makes Rock Creek especially noteworthy is that it achieves these results with the lowest per-student spending ($5,958) and a higher student–teacher ratio (18.2) than nearby schools like Bickel Elementary School ($10,022 per student, 11.6 ratio) or Harrison Elementary School ($9,238, 13.2 ratio), which post dramatically lower proficiency rates. The school has shown strong improvement since 2022–2023, especially in science (36.2% to 53.2%), though upper-elementary math remains an area to watch — proficiency falls from 63.5% in third grade to 48.0% in fifth grade. Strong subgroup results in 2023–2024, including four-star ratings for female, Hispanic, and White students, show that success spans multiple student groups, though male students' three-star rating suggests a possible area for continued focus.
