Corley Elementary School in Lawrenceville, GA, serves 1,119 students from Pre-K through 5th grade in the Gwinnett County school district, and it has become one of the most improved elementary schools in the area.

Corley has posted a remarkable turnaround over the past two years. After ranking in the 26th percentile statewide in 2023-2024, the school jumped to the 53rd percentile in 2025-2026—a gain of 27 percentile points that places it in the top half of Georgia elementary schools for the first time since before the pandemic. This improvement is especially notable given that about 80% of students qualify for free or reduced lunch. The school now outperforms several nearby schools, including Meadowcreek Elementary, Alford Elementary, Hopkins Elementary, and Minor Elementary, while ranking comparably to Kanoheda Elementary and Bethesda Elementary.

Math is a clear strength. In 2025-2026, Corley's 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade math proficiency rates all landed between 43% and 45%—remarkably consistent across grades. The 5th grade math score jumped 12.6 points in one year, the largest gain among nearby schools, and now tops every neighboring elementary. The school also excels with specific student groups: African American students rank in the top 14% statewide, and English Language Learners rank in the top 17%. Chronic absenteeism has dropped from 24.1% to 17.5%, now below the state average.
