Summary:
Schools in ZIP code 93706 include 26 elementary, middle, high and alternative schools, serving a mix of grade levels. In 2025–26, the unweighted averages among schools with reported results were 34% in ELA, 24% in math and 22% in science, compared with state results of 49%, 38% and 36%. The averages were about 14 to 15 points below the state, but they mask the area’s most important feature: results differ sharply from one school to another.
Edison Computech stands out, leading reported all-grades results with 93% in ELA, 75% in math and 70% in science—43, 37 and 34 points above the state, respectively. SchoolDigger ranked it 39th of 2,703 middle schools, in the 99th percentile, with five stars. Among elementary schools, Sunset Elementary was above the state in all three subjects, including 58% in ELA and 55% in math. At the other end, Pathway Community Day reported 0% in ELA and math; Pershing Continuation High reported 2% in ELA and 0% in math and science. These comparisons span different school types and grades.
Recent changes are mixed: across 20 schools with results in both years, average ELA rose about 1 point and science about 4 points from 2024–25 to 2025–26, while math was nearly unchanged; statewide math rose about 1 point. School-level exceptions matter: Edison Computech improved in all three subjects, while American Union Elementary gained 12 points in ELA and 9 in math but fell 10 in science. Similar reported free/reduced lunch eligible shares in 2024–25 did not mean similar results: Lincoln Elementary and King Elementary were at 97% and 98%, yet Lincoln scored 14 points higher in ELA and 21 higher in math. Student–teacher ratios also do not sort neatly with results: Computech’s was 23.1, compared with 12.9 at West Park Elementary. These are observations, not explanations of why results differ.
