Summary:

ZIP code 93312 has 16 schools: 10 elementary, four middle and two high schools, serving students from elementary through high-school grades. Across school levels, ELA is the clearest relative strength: school averages are about 3 to 16 points above the state average, while math and science results are more mixed. The main takeaway is that strong ELA performance does not mean every school or subject is equally strong.

Elementary results differ substantially: Independence Elementary leads ELA at 58%, 12 points above Rosedale-North Elementary at 46%; William B. Bimat Elementary leads math at 53%, 16 points above Columbia Elementary at 37%; and Veterans Elementary leads science at 41%, 14 points above Patriot Elementary at 28%. Among middle schools, Fruitvale Junior High leads all-grades ELA and math, while Rosedale Middle leads science; Freedom Middle has the lowest all-grades results in all three subjects. High-school results are close: Liberty High narrowly leads Centennial High in ELA, math and science, by less than half a percentage point in each. Middle-school overall comparisons are not perfectly like-for-like because Norris Middle serves grades 6–8 and the other middle schools serve grades 7–8.

Elementary averages rose from 2024–25 to 2025–26 by about 1 point in ELA, 1 point in math and 2 points in science, but the state gained ground faster in math and science. Grade-level differences can change the picture: Fruitvale leads eighth-grade math at 44%, while Freedom scores 22%, a 21-point gap; Rosedale leads seventh-grade math at 48%. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile for Freedom also fell 22 points, from 72 to 50, while Patriot, Endeavour and Columbia each rose 4 points. As context, 2024–25 free/reduced lunch eligibility was 73% at Endeavour Elementary and 70% at Columbia, but their results differ by subject. The high schools also show positive completion and attendance outcomes: graduation rates are about 96% and chronic absenteeism about 11% at both, compared with 88% and 18% statewide.
