Summary

Del Campo High is a large public high school serving grades 9-12 with about 1,550 students in Fair Oaks, California, as part of the San Juan Unified school district.

When looking at the numbers, Del Campo presents a mixed picture for parents. Its strongest point is a consistently high graduation rate of over 92%, which is better than most other comprehensive high schools in the area, including nearby Bella Vista High. However, the school's overall academic ranking has declined significantly in recent years, now placing it in a lower percentile than the district average. A particular area of concern is mathematics proficiency, which at 17.7% is notably lower than at Bella Vista High (40.3%) and even the San Juan Unified district average.

The analysis shows that some student groups are performing far below others, with gaps that are more pronounced than at comparable schools. While chronic absenteeism is an issue, it is actually slightly better than the district's average. Compared to a high-performing smaller school like Meraki High, Del Campo has a much larger student population and lower spending per pupil. The key takeaway is that while Del Campo effectively supports students to graduation, there are clear academic challenges, especially in math, that the school needs to address to improve outcomes for all learners.

Open Quote Why I voted for a 5 star because, Del Campo high school is just like a family to me. Del Campo treated me really well when I was in DC. I know that I have ups and downs in Del Campo. I did not mean to get myself into trouble in high school. It was a bad experience for me. I wasn't myself when I was in Del Campo. Now I understand how Del Campo effected me and my real world life. I have lots of memories and moments of DC. I can't believe how many friends I made in high school. I finally understand the transition from high school to real world. The teachers are real nice to me. In Del Campo, they have better environment and atmosphere. That was in the old generation.I miss that. I miss the old generation. I was once a cougar, always a cougar. I never forget that. That is why I voted 5 of 5 stars. The old generation of DC is the always the best. Del Campo rules. Close Quote
