Skyline High is a 1,250-student, grades 9–12 school in Oakland, California, and part of Oakland Unified. Its 2025–26 proficiency rates were above California’s in English language arts (ELA), math, and science, and its results were among the strongest of nearby schools. The clearest concern for families is attendance: 38% of students were chronically absent, compared with 18% statewide and 30% in the district.

Skyline High stands out locally in all three subjects, while math is its narrowest advantage over the state. In 2025–26, 60% were proficient in ELA, compared with 49% in California and 34% in Oakland Unified; 39% were proficient in math, just above the state’s 38% and ahead of the district’s 28%; and 47% were proficient in science, versus 36% statewide and 27% in the district.
