Summary:
Acalanes Union High includes five high schools serving grades 9–12, with 5,401 students enrolled; four are comprehensive high schools, while Acalanes Center for Independent Study enrolls 61. In 2025–26, the five-school average was 81% proficient in English language arts (ELA), 60% in math, and 58% in science, compared with California results of 49%, 38%, and 36%. The key distinction is that the four comprehensive schools exceeded state results in every subject, while the Center was below the state in math and science and substantially widened the area’s score gaps.
Miramonte High led ELA at 94% and science at 83%, topping the next-highest school by 6 and 7 percentage points, respectively. Campolindo High led math at 77%, 4 points ahead of Miramonte. At the other end, the Center had the lowest math and science results, 28% and 18%—10 and 18 points below state results. Las Lomas High had the lowest ELA result, 67%, but was still 18 points above the state. Acalanes High was second among the comprehensive schools in ELA and math, at 85% and 70%, and third in science at 60%.
Average results rose 4 points in both ELA and math from 2024–25 to 2025–26, but fell 5 points in science. The Center’s science score dropped 35 points, while the other four schools’ average rose 2 points. SchoolDigger rankings also moved in different directions: Campolindo improved from 60 to 32 and Miramonte from 29 to 20, while Las Lomas moved from 183 to 319 and Acalanes from 93 to 111. The comprehensive schools’ student-teacher ratios were close, ranging from 18.9 to 19.7 students per teacher. All five schools reported free/reduced lunch eligible for 2024–25, from 5% at Miramonte to 16% at the Center; these figures are context, not an explanation for school results.
