Charles Blackstock Junior High is a grades 6–8 school in Oxnard’s Hueneme Elementary, serving 1,239 students. It is the largest of 11 nearby middle schools; the other schools enroll 569 to 1,027 students. In 2025–26, Blackstock was below the state in English language arts (ELA), math and science. Most importantly, math is its clearest academic weakness: 14% of students were proficient, compared with 18% in the district and 38% statewide.

SchoolDigger’s statewide subgroup rankings point to a notable improvement for Migrant Students: the percentile rose from 5 in 2022–23 to 31 in 2025–26, compared with Blackstock’s overall 17th percentile.
