Rosedale Union Elementary has two middle schools, Rosedale Middle and Freedom Middle, both serving grades 7–8. Their results can be compared directly for those grades. In 2025–26, the schools’ clearest difference was science: 43% of students at Rosedale Middle were proficient, compared with 27% at Freedom Middle, a 16-point gap.
Rosedale Middle had the stronger 2025–26 results in all three subjects: 56% in ELA versus 48% at Freedom Middle, and 38% in math versus 28%. Compared with state results, Rosedale Middle was 7 points higher in ELA and science and nearly level in math; Freedom Middle was 1 point below the state in ELA, 10 points below in math and 9 below in science.
