Summary:
The 21 schools labeled elementary in Fairfield-Suisun Unified include K–5 and K–8 schools, a virtual academy, and a school with just 25 students; 20 report 2025–26 test results. The 20-school averages are below state proficiency in ELA (35% versus 49%), math (27% versus 38%), and science (23% versus 36%). Most important, results vary sharply from school to school: the gap between the highest and lowest school is about 50 percentage points in each subject.
Virtual Academy of Fairfield-Suisun leads in ELA (69%) and math (59%), beating state results by 20 and 21 percentage points; its science result is 44%, also above the state. Nelda Mundy Elementary leads in science at 54% and is above the state in all three subjects, by 12 points in ELA, 19 in math, and 18 in science. At the lower end, Dover Elementary has the lowest ELA result (14%), E. Ruth Sheldon Academy of Innovative Learning the lowest math result (4%), and Anna Kyle Elementary the lowest science result (3%); each is more than 30 points below the state in that subject.
Average school results declined between the two reported years: 2 percentage points in ELA, 2 in math, and 1 in science, while state results were nearly flat in ELA and rose 1 point in math and 3 in science.
