Summary:

The 11 high schools in Chaffey Joint Union High all serve grades 9–12 and include conventional schools as well as online, continuation and community day programs. In 2025–2026, the reported-school averages were 61% in English language arts (ELA), 38% in math and 38% in science, compared with state averages of 49%, 38% and 36%. But school results are far from uniform: the distance between the highest and lowest reported scores was 73 points in ELA, 68 in math and 59 in science. The most important finding for families is that performance depends greatly on which school they consider.

Los Osos High leads conventional schools in ELA and math, with 83% and 59% proficient, and reports the highest graduation rate, 96%. Chaffey District Online High has the top math and science results, 77% and 67%, and second-highest ELA at 78%; its small enrollment of 93 and 61% chronic absenteeism make it a distinct option. Among conventional schools, Etiwanda High leads in science at 53%. At the other end, Valley View High (Continuation) scores 10% in ELA, 9% in math and 7% in science; its graduation rate is 66% and chronic absenteeism is 88%. Chaffey Community Day’s current subject scores are suppressed, so no score comparison is available for that school.

Across the reported schools, averages shifted from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026 by −1 point in ELA, +3 in math and +9 in science; science rose at all 10 schools with reported scores, while ELA fell at seven. SchoolDigger places Chaffey District Online, Los Osos and Etiwanda in the 96th, 92nd and 89th percentiles, respectively, and Valley View in the 17th. Reported free/reduced lunch eligibility in 2024–2025 offers context, not an explanation: Los Osos was at 44% and Etiwanda at 55%, while Montclair High was at 83% and still had 64% ELA proficiency, compared with 53% at Chaffey High (82% eligible); their math results were much closer, at 25% and 22%. Rancho Cucamonga High, Alta Loma High, Colony High and Ontario High also have distinct results, so families may want to compare schools by subject and program fit.
