Cucamonga Elementary

Cucamonga Elementary serves 2,357 students across four schools in Cucamonga: three elementary schools serving kindergarten through grade 5 and one middle school serving grades 6–8. The clearest area-wide concern is that every school is below the state rate in all three all-grades subjects: the four-school averages are 34% in ELA, 27% in math and 19% in science, compared with state rates of 49%, 38% and 36%—gaps of 15, 12 and 17 percentage points, respectively.

Elementary results also vary by grade: in grade 3 math, Ontario Center’s 40% is 28 points above Los Amigos’ 12%.

Recent results show improvement in ELA and math on average, but not science: from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, the four-school averages rose 5 points in ELA and 6 points in math, while science fell 2 points. Cucamonga stands out for attendance, with chronic absenteeism at 13%, below the state’s 18% and the other schools’ 22% to 23%; Ontario Center, by contrast, leads math while having the highest absenteeism. The schools’ free/reduced lunch eligible measures for 2024–2025 range from 65% at Los Amigos to 82% at Cucamonga and Rancho Cucamonga Middle; these are useful context, not an explanation for results. Student-teacher ratios range from 17.7 to 20.1.
