Summary:

Schools in zip code 91762 are represented by 12 supplied records—8 elementary, 2 middle and 2 high schools—with school-reported free/reduced lunch eligible shares ranging from 78% to 93% in 2024–2025. The biggest takeaway is how much results differ by school: the top-to-bottom spread was 32 points in ELA, 36 in math and 29 in science, even though the 12-school averages were slightly above California in ELA and math and below it in science.

Online Academy led all-grades ELA and science, at 68% and 44%, while Elderberry Elementary led math at 58%, 19 points above the state. Vista Grande Elementary also exceeded California in all three subjects. At the lower end, Richard Haynes Elementary had the lowest ELA and science results, 35% and 15%; Chaffey High and Vina Danks Middle tied for lowest math at 22%. Graduation is a different bright spot: Ontario High graduated 96% of students in 2025–2026, compared with 91% at Chaffey and 88% statewide.

Average results improved from 2024–2025 to 2025–2026, especially in math: the school average rose 7 points, compared with a 1-point state gain; ELA rose 1 point and science 3. School trends differed, though: Elderberry gained in all three subjects, while Online Academy’s ELA rose 17 points and its science fell 8. SchoolDigger statewide ranking percentiles also rose for Elderberry, from the 47th to the 73rd, and Online Academy, from the 49th to the 66th, between 2023–2024 and 2025–2026. The free/reduced lunch eligible figures provide context, not an explanation for results: they were 93% at Elderberry, 78% at Vista Grande and 92% at Online Academy in 2024–2025, and all three schools exceeded the state in each subject.
