Evanston has eight public schools in Uinta County School District #1, spanning elementary, middle, and high school grades. Their enrollment ranges from 51 students at Horizon Alternative School to 771 at Evanston High School. Overall, reported results are slightly above state averages, but performance varies considerably by school and grade—the most striking gap is 33.9 percentage points in grade 10 math between Evanston High and Horizon.
Clark Elementary stands out in ELA, leading grades 3 and 4 at 74.1%, respectively 18.4 and 21.5 points above state results. Aspen Elementary leads elementary math in grades 3–5, including 81.6% in grade 4, 19 points above state; however, its grade 4 ELA result is 40.8%, the lowest among elementary schools.
