Summary:

Uinta County School District #1 has eight schools—four elementary, two middle and two high schools, including an alternative school—serving students from elementary through high school in Uinta County, Wyoming. In 2025–2026, the average of reported school-grade results was slightly above the state average in ELA (+0.69 percentage points) and math (+1.14), and more clearly above it in science (+4.55). The most important finding is that these modest overall advantages conceal sharp differences by school, grade and subject, including a substantial grade 10 math shortfall.

Clark Elementary stood out in ELA, with 74.1% proficient in both grades 3 and 4—18.4 and 21.5 points above state results. Aspen Elementary led the elementary math comparisons in grades 3 and 4, including 81.6% in grade 4, 19 points above the state. Evanston Middle School exceeded state results in each listed ELA, math and science comparison; its grade 8 math result was 70.0%, versus 53.9% statewide. Results were weaker in specific areas: North Evanston Elementary had 41.0% in grade 3 math, 20.2 points below the state, while Horizon Alternative School had 18.2% in grade 10 math, 26.8 points below.

Recent changes were mixed, with average gains exceeding state gains in ELA and science but falling just short in math. For example, Aspen Elementary math rose 19.5 points in grade 4, while its grade 4 ELA fell 12.7; Horizon Alternative School science rose 26.9 points but its math remained low. SchoolDigger’s statewide percentile ranks improved from 2023–2024 to 2025–2026 at Evanston High School (44th to 65th) and Evanston Middle School (51st to 71st), while North Evanston Elementary fell from the 54th to 31st percentile. Family circumstances also vary: reported free/reduced-lunch eligibility ranged from 43.5% at Evanston High School to 88.2% at Horizon Alternative School; this is context, not an explanation for achievement differences.
