Cashton Elementary is a PK–5 school serving 292 students in Cashton, a small community in western Wisconsin, and it is part of the Cashton School District. In 2025–2026 the school ranked 529th of 1,039 Wisconsin elementary schools (49th percentile, 2 stars), placing it near the state median and above its own district, which ranks 267th of 432 districts (38th percentile). That is a step down from the school's earlier highs: it sat at the 72nd percentile in 2020–2021 and the 70th in 2016–2017, both 4-star years, and at the 56th percentile in 2023–2024.

Attendance is Cashton's standout strength. Its chronic absenteeism rate was 3.2% in 2024–2025, far below Wisconsin's 17.3% and lower than nearly every nearby school. Only La Farge Elementary (2.9%) was slightly better, while Norwalk-Ontario-Wilton Elementary (5.6%), Bangor Elementary (6.3%), Westby Elementary (13.7%) and Viroqua Elementary (13.2%) were higher. The school has kept that rate low for five years. Third-grade math is the biggest concern at 40%, about 14.8 points below state and down from 50% and 60.98% in prior years. Fourth-grade science fell to 46.51%, below the state's 53.46% after several stronger years. English language arts sits close to state averages, trailing regional leaders such as Viroqua Elementary and Viroqua Area Montessori School. Among student groups, special-education effectiveness rose to the 67th percentile, while low-income performance slipped to the 54th.
