Bangor Elementary is a PK–5 school serving 313 students in the small western Wisconsin community of Bangor, part of the Bangor School District near La Crosse. In 2025–26, it ranked 612th of 1,039 Wisconsin elementary schools — the 41st percentile with 2 stars — a notable drop from the 74th percentile and 4 stars it earned in 2023–24, and far below its 2016–17 peak of the 98th percentile.

Forward Exam results in 2025–26 were uneven by grade. Third-grade ELA (62.79% vs. 52.08% state), fifth-grade ELA (69.39% vs. 53.63%), and fifth-grade math (61.22% vs. 51.81%) are above state averages, and the fifth-grade ELA result is the highest among nearby schools with comparable data. Among neighbors, Bangor ranks above North Woods International School, Sparta Montessori School, and Northern Hills Elementary, roughly level with Herrman Elementary, but below West Salem Elementary, State Road Elementary, Emerson Elementary, Pertzsch Elementary, and Eagle Bluff Elementary.
