Ashwaubenon High

Ashwaubenon High is a 9–12 comprehensive high school with 1,024 students at 2391 S Ridge Rd on Green Bay's south side, and it is the only high school in the Ashwaubenon School District. In 2025–26 it ranked 174th of 533 Wisconsin high schools — 67th percentile, 3 stars — the product of a volatile decade: 4-star years in the mid-2010s, a long slide, a sharp one-year drop to the 30th percentile in 2024–25, and a strong rebound. Part of that swing reflects a growing comparison pool (431 to 533 ranked schools), not just performance. Graduation is excellent: 97.0% in 2024–25, up from 92.0%, with a 0.1% dropout rate.

Proficiency is strong in three of four subjects. In 2025–26 tenth grade, Math (51.27%) and Science (52.54%) cleared state rates of 42.93% and 43.20%, and Social Studies (50.43%) edged the state's 48.25%. English Language Arts sat at 48.31% versus the state's 48.47% — near-parity, and a roughly 12-point jump after three years in the mid-to-high 30s. The standout figure is the low-income subgroup's 83rd-percentile, 4-star result. Two smaller subgroups lag: English Language Learners (29th percentile) and multi-racial students (21st percentile, 1 star). Chronic absenteeism is the contradiction: 19.3%, above the state's 17.3% and 6.5 points above the district's 12.8%.

Among nearby schools, Ashwaubenon is a clear third. De Pere High and West De Pere High rank 92nd and 90th percentile; Ashwaubenon's 67th is well ahead of the Green Bay Area schools — Southwest High (23rd), Preble High (24th), West High (14th) and East High (13th). Southwest enrolls nearly the same number of students (1,025) and spends more per pupil ($16,649 vs. $15,106) yet ranks far lower. De Pere and West De Pere spend less ($14,007 and $14,221) while serving fewer low-income students. In English Language Arts the gap to those two is about 15 points, which accounts for most of the difference in overall standing. Ashwaubenon now spends roughly 18% more per student than three years ago, with a steady 15.9 student–teacher ratio.
