As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote Southwest has excellent academics.
They have a very good math bowl team usually finishing first in Brown County nearly every year.
ACT scores are among the tops in the county and state each year.
There are excellent AP classes to chose from and the Physics AP teacher, Mr Nedobek, is one of the best in the country. Many of his students obtain a 5 on the AP physics test.
As far as athletics the Trojans are solid and the school offers a variety of sport opportunities. They have a tradition of excellence in Tennis.
While not an official WIAA sport the dance team is second to none in the state especially in the kick and pom routines. Over the past 20 years the Troyettes have earned a first place each year in the State Tournament in at least one event. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter took AP courses and was very well prepared for college. She was able to graduate a semester early and accumulate college credit at UWGB before going out of state for her first traditional year of college. She also participated in one of the school course exchange programs and expanded her preparation with Anatomy and Physiology offered off-campus. Unlike other high schools in our area, it IS possible to live within walking distance of Southwest High School and still live in a nice area of town. Close Quote

Open Quote My daughter attends Southwest and it has been a great experience. The entire school district does a superb job in transitioning feshmen into high school via their orientation, Link Crew program, on-site registration, etc. Safety is a priority as are the academic and co-curricular offerings (my daughter does well with both). Families are highly supportive of this school. In fact, Green Bay is an incredibly family-oriented city - lots of support and focus on our schools and our students. We are fortunate to have such great schools. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
