Schools in ZIP code 98685 include seven public schools serving students in grades K–12 in the Vancouver area: four elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. All are part of the Vancouver School District. Together, they enroll about 5,062 students. The area offers several strong elementary options, one particularly high-performing middle school, and a high school with excellent graduation results, but performance varies significantly from school to school.

Alki Middle School is the standout overall, ranking in the 80th percentile statewide and outperforming both the district and Washington in ELA, math, and science. Among elementary schools, Felida Elementary School has the strongest math results and an 81st-percentile ranking, while Chinook Elementary School has the area’s highest science proficiency and made substantial ranking gains. Salmon Creek Elementary also stands out for major three-year improvement and remains among the area’s strongest schools.

Skyview High School has a 92.8% graduation rate and a 4.0% dropout rate, both substantially better than district and state figures, although math proficiency is a concern. Thomas Jefferson Middle School performs above district averages but trails the state in all three tested subjects. Sacajawea Elementary School needs the closest attention, ranking in the 28th percentile with lower current proficiency and a declining three-year ranking trend. Overall, science is the strongest growth area, while secondary-school math deserves particular focus.
