Freeman Middle School is a small public school in Rockford, Washington, serving grades 6–8 and 201 students in the Freeman School District. The district ranks 31st of 238 statewide, while the school ranks 107th of 514 Washington middle schools for 2025–2026, placing it in the 79th percentile and earning a four-star rating. That is a major recovery from 302nd place and the 44th percentile in 2023–2024. Although the school is not currently the top local option, it ranks ahead of most nearby schools, including Selkirk Middle School, West Valley City School, and Chase Middle School.

Academically, English language arts is the clearest strength. In 2025–2026, 66.11% of students were proficient in ELA, above Washington’s 52.81% and higher than eight of ten nearby schools.
