The six elementary schools in the Tahoma School District serve students in prekindergarten through fifth grade in the Maple Valley area. The district is one of Washington’s highest-performing, ranking 10th out of 238 districts, and all six schools perform above statewide averages. Together, they enroll about 4,172 students, with school sizes ranging from 479 to 923 students.

Cedar River Elementary is the clear academic leader, ranking 53rd statewide and earning a five-star rating. It has the highest proficiency in the group in English language arts, math, and science. Lake Wilderness Elementary is the largest school and also performs strongly, ranking 114th statewide; its rank has improved steadily over three years. Rock Creek Elementary ranks 125th and is particularly strong in ELA, including an exceptional third-grade math result. These three schools offer the strongest combination of achievement and statewide standing.

Glacier Park Elementary and Tahoma Elementary remain well above state averages but show more mixed results by subject and grade. Glacier Park is relatively strong in math but declined recently in all three tested subjects, while Tahoma’s science performance is its main weakness and fifth-grade math needs attention.
