Tazewell High is a public high school in Tazewell, VA, serving 509 students in grades 9–12 as part of Tazewell County Public Schools. The school serves a high-poverty community—88.8% of students qualified for free or reduced-price lunch in 2024–2025—yet it continues to graduate students at a rate above the state average (93.8% vs. 92.3% statewide). However, the school's state ranking has fallen sharply from an extraordinary 3rd place in 2021–2022 to 155th out of 325 Virginia high schools in 2025–2026 (53rd percentile).

Academically, Tazewell High shows a clear pattern: strong early performance, but struggles in later grades.
