Stafford Senior High in Fredericksburg, VA serves 2,198 students in grades 9-12, making it one of the largest high schools in the region as part of Stafford County Public Schools. The school currently ranks 169th out of 331 Virginia high schools, placing it at the 49th percentile with a 2-star rating — a significant improvement from just two years ago when it sat at the 23rd percentile. Roughly 39% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, indicating a moderate-poverty student population.

Academically, Stafford shows a mixed picture. The school's 10th-grade English Reading proficiency is strong at 81.8%, well above the state average of 63.9%, and 12th-grade Biology proficiency is 92.6% compared to 75.4% statewide. Writing results, however, are inconsistent — 12th-grade Writing proficiency is just 45.8% versus a 65.0% state average — and 9th-grade Geometry (79.6%) and Algebra II (90.8%) both trail district and state averages.
