Open Quote Being related to one of the teachers at this school, and having been a student at Weems in the past, I can say that this is easily the worst school in the city. With incompetent administrators and a complete lack of concern for teaching students what they need to know in order to pass state tests, I can say that my children will never go to Weems Elementary school as long as they are in school. Another problem with this school is that, although a vast majority of the students cannot read at grade level, the administrators still feel the need to try to label every child as "gifted" and put them into special programs, rather than try to teach them how to do the basics, like learning to read. Overall, think long and hard about your child's future before sending him or her to Weems. Without recieving a basic elementary school foundation, this could mean no college education, or future job. About Student-Teacher Ratio
Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
