As you review the school rankings data, please be aware that some of the information from certain demographics is missing. The reason for this omission is that the data has been redacted from the source data itself due to low population samples in these specific demographic groups.

Redacting data from low population samples is a necessary step to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the results, as small sample sizes may not be representative of the broader population. Additionally, this measure helps protect the privacy of individuals belonging to these demographic groups.

Open Quote As a freshman in high school, I expected to be met with the basics of what a school should contain such as: mildly interesting teachers, educational classes, a fairly functioning transportation system, and some variety of extracurricular activities. Kettle Run, however, has gone above and beyond what I anticipated. Upon arrival to the school, one would notice the neat modern look to the building, and with one-hundred percent honesty I can assure you that it carries over to the inside of the school. The interior design has a nice modern look to it with few, but not non-existant errors. There are many classes to take at Kettle Run, and I have heard nothing but good things about them (With the exception of the French program, but I'll draw back to that point later.) and the instructors who lead them. Students do outnumber the teachers, and surprisingly teachers outnumber class rooms, so some teachers travel to different rooms based on times of the day. This was intentional and was included in the design of the school. The teachers themselves are incredibly enthusiastic in regards to their lessons, and will not hesitate to assist any student to the best of their ability. Few classes, including the French program, but keep an open mind, are not up to the usual standard. A majority of the classes are challenging enough to keep students engaged and focused while balancing interest level. Once classes are done for the day, there is the option of engaging in the extracurricular activities outside of school. There are many after school organizations ranging from the championship-winning sports teams, math clubs, and the ever productive theater group and stage crew. The transportation system is another neat and efficient system in the school. I, personally, am very impressed with how organized it is. The buses are relatively new and the bus drivers are friendly. There are very few downsides to the school from a student's perspective. Those not accustomed to the strictness of the school should prepare themselves as there is little tolerance to disruption. Cell phone service is blocked, but there is still wireless connection in the building to prevent interruptions to the school day. While these downsides do exist, the upsides outnumber them greatly, and I can't go through the list without mentioning the fabulous school library and library staff. Overall, this school has been the best school I have ever gone to, and I am proud to call myself a Kettle Run Cougar. Close Quote

About Students eligible for discounted/free lunch:

The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) provides low-cost or free meals to students in U.S. public and nonprofit private schools based on household income. Those with incomes below 130% of the poverty line receive free lunch, while those between 130% and 185% qualify for reduced-price lunch. The percentage of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch serves as a marker for poverty, as it reflects the socioeconomic status of families in a given school or district. A higher FRPL rate typically indicates a higher concentration of low-income families, suggesting that the school or district may face additional challenges in providing adequate resources and support for student success.

About Student-Teacher Ratio

Student/teacher ratio is calculated by dividing the total number of students by the total number of full-time equivalent teachers. Please note that a smaller student/teacher ratio does not necessarily translate to smaller class size. In some instances, schools hire teachers part time, and some teachers are hired for specialized instruction with very small class sizes. These and other factors contribute to the student/teacher ratio. Note: For private schools, Student/teacher ratio may not include Pre-Kindergarten.
